Welcome to the Newbie Guide. This page aims to help you to get up and running with us. We do things our own way most of the time, and this might not be all that obvious at first. Hopefully you’ll forgive us for being so weird.

What to expect from us

We are first and foremost a raiding guild. This means that raiding is the reason for this guild to exist, and everything we do is to improve our raiding. The ultimate goal is to have fun while beating raid mobs.

What we expect from you

You are expected to perform the best you can, and to work hard at getting better. If you are serious about learning, you might ask an officer about our Mentor Program.

We’d love to expect full attendance from our members, but this is unfortunately impossible. The formal “red line” is 80% attendance over a 30 day backlog. The overall idea is to have a mostly stable raid force, and not all-new groups every week. If you expect to not make our schedules regularly, then you’re probably looking at the wrong guild.

Our standard baseline is:

  • Mythical
  • 180+ AA
  • Mostly mastered
  • T3 Gear

Note that these are not the trialist requirements, but is what you should aim for once you’re in for trial. As trialist requirements, the following should give you an idea:

  • Fabled epic
  • 160+ AA
  • Full Expert spells
  • T2 Gear

The most important part about a recruit, however, is not his gear, but his dedication and will to improve. Gear can be farmed, skill can not.

Raiding Progress

While not strictly focussing on raid progress at the moment, we have cleared all of RoK instanced content up to VP, and the more casual content of TSO, first two nameds in ToMC and PotAO.

How can you not focus on progress??

Well, it might sound worse than it is. We are currently more concerned with teamwork, gear, and individual skill or our player base. Starting Nov 6, we’ve decided to go “back” to farm Levi + VP to help us focus our skills, getting the last few myths, and getting to know eachother on the field of battle.

Mumble

Mumble is an open source voip software that we use for voice communication during raids. It’s as good, if not better, than ventrilo in most things, and is free, lightweight, and has a very low latency. It’s really easy to set up. Here is a guide to get you started.

Guild Connect

GC serves as a way to stay connected while not in-game, as well as sharing AoE timers, triggers and parses. Read this to get it going.
